[Leaplist] Newbie needs help

Bob,
    Sorry about my reply. I read your e-mail from a Web mail browser via 
terminal services, and it didn't show the second paragraph where you 
clearly mention the Installfest. I'm not a complete idiot, just blind 
sometimes ;) I have never installed Linux from a Live CD, but I know 
that Debian shows the current partition setup during install that allows 
you to select where to install your distro, and how to partition it out 
(Use entire disk or have the standard Linux directories). I believe 
Ubuntu does the same. What I do not know is whether the install will 
install grub and overwrite your windows bootup, or whether it leaves it 
alone. If grub doesn't install, then I know you can modify the windows 
boot.ini file to include your Linux install to the windows boot screen. 
Hopefully someone on this board will know the answers to your questions.
