Hello Bryan, missed you today at the Installfest.
Hello Leapers! Missed a few of you, and met some new attendees!

I missed the last two meets, due to illness the first time, and on the
second, due to moving, and still setting up and finishing all the
'honey do' list items in the new home!

ryan, the 2 DDR2 memory sticks you got for me is fantastic in Nancy's
new AMD X2 5600+ system!

It screams on internet downloads, and on installs of applications!

Could a lack of memory actually caused slow downloads on my Road Runner
Broadband? I mean, all my other systems do up to about 384kbs on
downloads, but, on similar sized downloads after the addition of dual
channel memory, her computer hasn't time to calculate and display the
speed, before it is done, and installed!

Thanks also, to the fine fellows (and ladies!) who attended, and showed
interest in Linux! Briana, I think you left your sunglasses, and
someone (Alex?) lost and earring retainer for pierced earrings.

Enrique puts lost and found stuff somewhere at the School, and if you
want to contact him, I can call him for you and arrange for you to pick
them up.

There was some fun, and some games, and new discoveries, like SLITAZ.org
distro of Linux that I simply must check out, said to run on even old
hardware like greased lightning! 25MB ISO... Hope to see how it
measures up with Mini-Knoppix and DSL (in two 50MB versions).

Thanks to everyone who brought SWAG and FREEBIES! Thanks for some
legacy hardware! Got a K6-350 system up fast, using DSL! Might be OK
for "Child's Play", a suite of games for young children!

Hoping to assist HOPE in Seminole County, and perhaps set up a computer
education class for the Oviedo branch. Services are for those families
on the edge of losing their homes, due to loss of jobs in the family,
and a job search can succeed with use of the Internet.

Of course, all donated systems will run GNU/Linux! Families without any
computer system will receive a complete one that will be the fastest of
the group available.

Thank you to whoever brought the marble cake, as an afternoon snack it
was "just right" for many Leapers!

Stay dry, warm, and, don't shower or bathe if you hear thunder or the
weather reports are of lightning within 5 miles of you!
