Sure, Below is the link to the article I followed:
http://www.ehomeupgrade.com/2006/07/17/how-to-setup-debian-linux-desktop-with-full-multimedia-support-and-faster-processing/
I did not follow it step by step. I did not use testing or experimental
in my upgrade (although sid is in my list, it is commented out and not
being used), I did not reinstall my gnome desktop, and I did not install
the latest kernel, I already have the latest. I modified the sources
list in the beginning, and jumped right to the sound mixing section. I
then progressed right into the multimedia section which adds another
line to the sources.list, and explains how to add the gpg key. If you
copy/paste the red letters in the CLI, it adds the key. One thing it
does not mention is that you have to have the multimedia keyring
installed. After adding the multimedia list, and before installing the
gpg keys, run the following:
Case:/home/hank# apt-get install debian-multimedia-keyring
Then continue on to the adding of the keys. I stopped at the skype
install because I am not using skype. Here is my sources.list:
Case:/home/hank# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
# Debian Etch
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib non-free
# Debian Sid
# deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sid main contrib non-free
# Multimedia
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main
# Beryl
deb http://debian.beryl-project.org/ etch main
deb-src http://debian.beryl-project.org/ etch main
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, let me know.
