[Leaplist] Fwd: FW: FACUG FALL CONFERENCE AND TechFair 2007 Flyers

It's funny that you post this; before I found LEAP, I went to 4 of their
(CFCS) meetings in my desperation to find other serious computer enthusiast
like myself. I never joined, and stopped going because I felt like your
exact statement was happening. I saw what appeared to me as some members
taking advantage of some of the lesser computer literate members by using
their own businesses to "help" them out. Additionally, rather than a club of
hobbyist, it felt like a Microsoft sanctioned computer tradeshow, and the
overbearing arrogance of a large number of the members was sickening. Not my
cup of tea.

I did belong to the CFCS many years ago. Anyone who becomes involved
should be aware that the "Powers That Be". the behind the screen folks,
make their living working with the CFCS mass of members. They used to
make some rather good dollars selling parts, service, and Microsoft
Software. Microsoft took care of the "in" people more than adequately.

My reason for posting this is that many of you know this but others may
not.
