meaning, from the audience? i don't think fred and i would be the
only ones, there are several other LEAP members who use encryption on
a regular basis and who would probably make it a point to show up for
a key signing party.
i know i'm not the best in the world when it comes to public
speaking, however i could probably organize a key-signing. this web
page explains the process:
http://cryptnet.net/fdp/crypto/keysigning_party/en/
keysigning_party.html
i used to carry cards suitable for an "informal party" (section 2.7
of the web page) but i found that i wasn't using them very often, so
now i have my "key ID" (the last 32 bits of the fingerprint) printed
on my normal business cards. however, if i know there's going to be a
party, i can print more and bring them with. in fact, when i get home
and find the file, i'll put it up on my web page so people can use it
as a template and make their own cards.
however, what usually works better for a planned meeting (like a LEAP
meeting) is a "list party" (section 2.8 of the web page.) if we do
this, i'm willing to volunteer as the organizer- i'll gather the keys
(everybody who wants to participate will need to email me their
fingerprints by noon on the day of the meeting, as well as make sure
the keys themselves have been uploaded to the keyservers) and print
up lists for everybody.
