After trying several distros: Ubuntu 7.10, Mepis6.5, that have the
Compaq FS740 monitor out of range, even though I tried some tweaks like
the Vesa option, I am back to PC-BSD.
Now, my only problem with PC-BSD is that many of the things like Firefox
don't seem to exist on that platform. Konqueror works very well, but,
no flash for some websites.
Went to the VTech site, in research of the grandkids'
toys, and other than their bare bones description of the site,
everything is flash, and non-existant without it.
Tons of games, though, in PC-BSD!
Yahoo shows up, belatedly, in Konqueror. and it is OK to not have lots
of stupid advertising flashing...
