[Leaplist] Computers

There are 14 computers (most are 266 to 350 Mhz, a couple are a bit
faster), 6 monitors (17" CRT), and I have some keyboards (4 are old DIN
connector), and a few PS2 keyboards, and some Snapple mice ($1 each,
please).

We'll need about 16 power cords, 9 PS2 keyboards, speakers for 6
systems, Nics for any of the IPCOP boxes.

Of course, the keyboards for the IPCOP boxes might be unplugged after
the configuration.

Otherwise, I am hoping to see some Linux noobs show up, install Edubuntu
or Mepis and take a system home. Of the rest (5 are Compaqs), all could
become IPCOP boxes, and are FREE to those who desire them.

I am bringing the "no f1" floppy, IPCOP 1.4.15 CDrom, but, appreciate
anyone else also bringing what you like installed.

At end of day, any hardware that is not taken will be recycled.

There is one IPCOP box there, with three NICs, already built, that has a
Cyrix PR200 (166Mhz) CPU.

This could be an opportunity to clean out your junk box of NICs, power
cords, mice, keyboards, speakers, to make these work.

Each of the 14 boxes does have at least one hard drive, and a CDrom.

I am donating 3 boxes of books with CDroms included. Subjects include
lots of Linux, security, and programming. I will put these out for free
to attendees, at 1 PM, as that is the time that most folks are present.

Thank you, Pat Puleo, for your truck, and the donation of your time,
labor, gas, in picking up the systems and delivering them to the meeting
room with me.

This will be the Christmas Install Fest and I hope all can attend and
make a real party of it!
