Perform a search: yum search fastestmirror Then install it. Once installed, it scans the list of mirrors for response rate and starts the yum session with the fastest mirror it finds. It's very nice. yum clean all dumps the cache and the mirror speed list and starts it over. Sometimes yum clean all can give you back quite a bit of HD space.
