think about something- if you're looking at a web site written by
"bob" which says one thing, and another site written by "frank" which
says "bob's an idiot, do this instead", and you don't know anything
about either person, who are you going to believe?

believe me, i've been dealing with this for several years now. the
real problem is that eric (the author of the *rocks web sites) doesn't
have time to maintain the sites. he also doesn't know qmail as well as
some other people do (i.e. myself), and because he isn't taking an
active interest in the sites, it's rather pointless to try and send
him updates, because they'll never find the site anyway.

this is why, if you join the qmailrocks mailing list, you'll find that
i'm the one who answers more questions than anybody, because most
"qmailrocks users" have figured out how woefully out-of-date the
qmailrocks stuff is, and upgraded to newer versions of everything,
including my combined patch.

with that said, i'm not going to put up a page saying that qmailrocks
is garbage, because i don't think it is. i think it's a good idea, but
it's one which hasn't been developed correctly. if eric were to take
the time and fix the problems, or at least give somebody else access
to do it, it could be a great resource.

there's also the fact that i like eric as a person- i plan to stop in
atlanta (where he lives) and meet him in person the next time i drive
up to tennessee to visit with my brother (which probably won't happen
until next year, he's in iraq right now and isn't due to rotate home
until next october.)
