Subject: Computer Donation- Info for List
Hello! Sorry, I wasn't expecting my e-mail to go directly to
the mailing list so I failed to include details. I found out
recently that I will be moving out of state at the end of the
month and I'm scrambling to get this done before I leave. I
apologize for the last minute notice.
I have two sessions:
Saturday, November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, November 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The first 15-30 minutes will involve a whole group
presentation. I would like to explain what Linux/Edubuntu is
all about and give a short overview. Then parents and
students will branch out and hook up their computer so that
they will know how to do this at home. They will turn it on
and use the software. I need volunteers to work with each
family individually and answer questions.
I've been using Ubuntu for about a year now, but I still
consider myself a novice. I'm actually a bit nervous about
having a bunch of experts there to critique me. :)
I have computers that were donated by SCC and they will be
ready to go for training. I have about 10 more in my garage
too. Due to the fact that I am moving I cannot accept
anymore, but I appreciate what everyone has offered.
I don't how I can repay everyone, but I'll gladly bring food
for everyone.
Sorry for the long email, but hopefully this clears
everything up. Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Stephanie Petris
