Yes, 'IF', your /home is a separate partition!  Linux installs typically
 put /home on the /root partition, but, at least most installs using
GParted now mention this in the clik through default screens during the
GUI install!

Mentioned in subtle ways, though, and not pointed out or expanded upon!

One should copy the /home to a safe place, and also, if you have a large
portfolio of saved Wallpapers, or other neat things, in /usr/share you
can copy all to a safe place.

I copy them to CD or DVD! Then, I verify that they are all there!

Then, I feel safe in attempting to install other OSes.
