Running SimplyMepis 6.5, on a Dell Dimension 4100 (933mhz, 512 MB RAM)
I have some really great external drives, of 120Gb, 250Gb, and 500Gb. I
put files like docs, and some Linux and *BSD ISOs into folders, and I
want to share them with torrent applications, but, permissions won't let
RW permissions through. So, ktorrent pukes and says permission is
denied to share them.
So, questions are:
Removable external drives that auto mount are accessible by root, and
super user in the filesystem. Is it legit to change the rw permissions
in their file system (which, btw, is NOT /etc/fstab!)?
The permissions are noted to be in another file, uDev which seems a bit
obtuse for me to edit, when I try... vi /uDev (opens a blank edit for
uDev!), so, does anyone know where uDev is located?
Or know how I can mount external drives with permissions for r/w to
applications like ktorrent?
