[Leaplist] How do I pair my bluetooth devices and my GNU/Linux box?

Dear Leapers,

I have purchased a Cyber-Blue bluetooth 2.0 USB dongle and I am trying to
pair my Nokia N800 Internet Tablet to my computer which is running gNewSense
1.1, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu (which, in turn, in based on
Debian). I also have a Nokia 6133 cellphone which I would like to connect
to my computer.

I have tried to use Bluetooth Device Manager 0.7.0 and it immediately "saw"
my Nokia N800 and my Nokia 6133. I then tried to go to the edit->properties
to see if I could edit the connection properties but I could not open
another menu. I also tried clicking on the two device icons but nothing
happened.

I have tried using bluetooth-gnome, kde-bluetooth, grml-btnet and I have
tried to play around with hcid, hcid.conf, hcitool but I could not establish
a connection.

I have to say that the computer "sees" the dongle very well, and the OS
"sees" the N800. It looks to me that this is not a hardware or OS issue.

On the N800 side I went to tools->control panel->bluetooth-devices-new where
it 'found' my computer with no problems. I then tried to pair the devices
and it gave me a passcode. I found no way of "seeing" that passcode request
on my computer other than this message on the tail -f /var/log/syslog
output:

Code:

gNewSenseBox2 hcid[4648]: pin_code_request (sba=00:15:83:BE:9E:F0,
dba=00:19:4F:DB:1B:54)

However, I did not find how to answer this pin request to the connection was
terminated with the message "pairing failed".

I also tried pairing my desktop to my Nokia 6133 phone, but the same problem
occured: the phone wants a pairing code which I am unable to give to my
desktop.

Which file should I edit to have my desktop respond to the authentification
request with the correct pin number?

What utility should I use to connect them?

Many thanks for any help,

Andrei

PS: BTW - does anyone also use a N800 and a T-Mobile Nokia cellphone to dial
up when on the road? I need help with that too...
