I'm having a similar problem with Firefox under Kubuntu 5.04. Some web
pages crash Firefox and it closes when those pages open. Other pages
cause the same crash when I try to close the tab they're in.

As for updating, there are kernel changes in later releases that make
them incompatible with my hardware. Haven't yet tried Feisty though. If
someone could bring a live CD of Kubuntu Feisty (or even Ubuntu) to
Saturday's Installfest, I'd appreciate being able to test it.
