I checked into System76. The idea of purchasing a laptop built on Open
hardware for Linux seems to hard to put off. I rather enjoy using Ubuntu
and am really happy to see that System76 is making great strides at
getting it (or Linux in general) to work properly on a laptop.
I'm so close to ordering but my dilemma is whether to purchase a laptop
from them with or without Ubuntu installed and still be able to reinstall
Ubuntu of my own and make the hardware work properly. I am assuming that
it would work becasue System76 got it to work with Ubuntu. Also, I do not
want automated features for Ubuntu or the kernel.
I guess that I wouldn't mind a fully fuctional laptop especially with
Ubutnu loaded on it but I guess I'm just being "free" to think about it
all.
