I don't think so, and I'll tell you why.
$34.99 for one 2 gig would, IMHO, be a much better deal. You can actually get
a Linux distro on a 2 gig. you can use a 2 gig to back up some pretty
substantial stuff. But when you split the 2 gig into 4 512 megs, you might
have the same amount of space, but it's a whole lot less convenient and
flexible.
The one place where 4x512 might be good is if you have 4 kids, or 1 kid who
loses them all the time.
