Yup, several copies of several distros from two different CD burners, 
both burning at minimum speed. Even tried the Windoze 2k and Win 95 
discs that had previously loaded in. No go.

Yup, turned that off and no change.

Yes, except for the unit I plan to use for IPCOP which has no floppy.

True. But I'm suspicious when eight different CDs all go bad at once. 
It's not like they were floppies subjected to an EMP!
