[Leaplist] Laptops for Sale Without an OS

Hello All,
I just had to put my primary laptop, an IBM T30, to sleep. It was because
of a bad CPU I'm guessing. I've tried everything that I can think of.
I'm currently running on an even older laptop with a PIII and 128MB RAM,
and even though Xubuntu runs well on it I'm going to pull my hair out if
it drags on any longer!
Anyway, I'm looking to purchase a newer laptop without an OS and I'm not
too sure where to look. Just to see, although I think I did more for a
laugh, I asked a the salespeople at Best Buy, CompUSA and another if they
would sell a laptop without an OS. They asked me "what would I install
then". Ok, so I did it for a laugh! Isn't it funny though that the people
that sell technology just don't know that there is an alternative. Maybe
this whole thing is old news.
Anybody know where I can start? I really do enjoy using an IBM but am open
to another brand. I don't want to break the bank either. I just need a
newer and faster running laptop.
Any help would be appreciated.
