[Leaplist] OT, but good news ... or not

I'ts not completely good news. Count the number of times the
word "Windows" appears in context with "botnet". Not once.

Good news for me will be when the tech media, followed by the
popular media, lays the blame for the sorry state of the Internet
exclusively and deservedly at the feet of Bill Gates.

It's a puzzling state of affairs. Very few medical journalists these
days write articles about HIV/AIDS - and so dramatically fail
to also cover the causes. You will never see an article suggesting
that the only safe Windows CD is one wrapped in a condom.

I realize Phil and some others have had their Linux installs
hacked, and I feel their pain and respect their experience.

But I'll make a deal. I'll give you $1,000 for every hacked Linux
machine used in a botnet. You give me a penny for every Windows
box. I think I'll come out ahead on the deal. And I think it's time we
chastened the media, especially the tech media, on their negligence
in reporting the true cause of the oozing syphilitic mess the
Internet has become... Windows.

Remember - there are no computer viruses. Only software
viruses - and when you see virus, think Windows - and let
your favorite tech writer know - that is, if they can see far
enough past the pile of Microsoft advertising on their desk
to act like the journalists they claim to be.

Cheers,

Chris
