That always works for me..  I just reboot a livecd, copy
/etc/X11/xorg.conf to my usb drive, reboot and copy it over the one that
doesn't work..   and away I go..  Glad you thought to mention that
Steve, its just one of the things we do and forget to pass on..
Much easier than figuring out what is wrong with the conf file.. guess
old system programers are just lazy..
