Study: Developers Favor Linux

My view is that it is a great big world, and in China, India, EU, the
Pacific, Asia, and Russia there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of
local languages, that any OS must function with. Developing nations
demand their populations be able to build and converse in their languages.
Open Source promotes the quick implementation of that concept.
