I use:

cdrecord -pad padsize=63s driveropts=burnfree dev=/dev/cdwriter
ubcd34-full.iso

for CD-size ISO's, with the last name obviously referring to a specific
iso to burn, you could make it a csh alias as such:

alias burn 'cdrecord -pad padsize=63s driveropts=burnfree
dev=/dev/cdwriter \!*'

I use growisofs to burn DVD's:

growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=/home/wam/FTP/CentOS-4.4-i386-binDVD.iso

with the last name obviously a specific DVD iso, you could aliasize it
as before.

These options work AOK for me (FC5, stock kernel et al, LG GSA burner),
but, as always:

IANAL, YMMV, HTH, $0.02: no more, no less ....
