I second Tony's thoughts.

Snip...

Here is my $0.02:

People on the election committee are serving LEAP. Their primary
responsibility is to count ballots. Now I know that in Florida that can
be challenging :-) but for the purposes of this conversation, let's put
counting issues aside. Now it may be interpreted that some folks
probably are serving on the election committee in so that they are not
eligible to serving on the board. IMHO, that is their loss. Serving on
the LEAP board is a tremendous personal benefit as well as a
responsibility. Now we want to make a rule to limit a member's service
when they don't make decisions concerning the activity and direction of
LEAP? Are there other motives like fixing the elections? With
typically only one person running for an office it would seem that a
corrupt ballot counter would find a more interesting election to influence.

I understand that in today's political environment it is desirable to
have term limits for officers but to modify the by-laws to prevent
someone from serving on the election committee? I would hope not.

Cheers,

Tony
