Hi Phil,

Thanks but no.  I've got two hd's on this box.  One w. WXp and one 
Linux.  I have no trouble at all reading/writing/formatting to the 
floppy w. it.  But this linux setup is just not working right for some 
reason.  Before I posted this I rebooted into XP and formatted two 
floppies w. DOS(FAT) and had no error messages.  I was able to write to 
both of the floppies that I formatted just fine.  The drive and the 
disks are totally OK w. Windows.   I'm thinking it's my linux setup for 
some reason.  I'm gonna crash and burn for tonight.  I'll look at it 
more tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch for the thought tho, Phil.  I appreciate it a bunch.
