I sent the writer a note of congratulations, and suggested he should 
"drop the other shoe" -

Congratulations on a great article on Free Office Alternatives in 
Saturday's paper. I have been a user of Open Office (and its 
predecessor, the early free versions of Star Office) for almost ten 
years, and I never miss a chance to recommend it.

Now, how about another article where you drop the other shoe, and tell 
people they no longer have to be plagued by Windows at all? We have 
finally reached the point where you can buy a computer from a major 
manufacturer pre-loaded with Linux. In fact, a Dell with Ubuntu Linux is 
now selling for $50 LESS than the equivalent model with Windows. The 
Ubuntu version of Linux is probably the easiest one for the average user 
to switch to, and it comes with Open Office!
