Tuxkart runs fine (I whacked out 3/4 of a lap before creaming a fish ;-) 
So if the blurb in the forum is correct, then the video is apparently 
accelerated.  (btw, the link is pclinux*os*.com...)
and I didn't run any of the aticonfig --init stuff.  Just a simple 'defaults' 
install.
