The number has grown a bit now. Plus, there has already been a
(largely unsuccessful) attempt to move the thread to LEAP-BS.

Some of us (myself included) read these lists on their PDAs. My
current PDA (Audiovox 6600) has very limited filtering abilities. I
filter into folders on the server, and my PDA collects it's e-mail from
the IMAP folders I'm most interested in from a business/technical
standpoint. The rest waits until I get home. Also, not everyone with a
PDA has EV-DO or WiFi. Where I live the best I can get is 1xRTT at the
moment (although I do have a static IP on it - one of the advantages of
contracting for the TelCo), so downloads take a while. It is with some
regret that I have found it necessary to unsubscribe my PDA from
LEAP-CF in an effort to cut down on the dunnage.

Finally, (and I'm playing Devil's Advocate here) why is it OK to "filter
out a small diversion" when it's off-topic, but not when it's flamage?
What's the difference?

For the record, I _am_ interested in the thread. I just don't believe
it belongs on LEAP-CF any more. That is what LEAP-BS is for.

I'm with you on that one. Except this is not new. Just browse the
archives sometime. I could give plenty of examples, but I'm not about
to "name and shame".

I don't think any of us have a problem with "researched and founded
arguments" as long as they're on-topic. What the Queen of England did
four centuries ago (not to mention Shakespeare, Plato, Socrates,
Pythagoras, Newton, Nitzche, Archimedes, Da Vinci, Michaelangelo et al)
has to do with Linux is shady at best. On the other hand, people can
post things like this to LEAP-BS as much as they like - it's what the
BS list is for...

I remember a time (not too long ago) when people used this list for
seeking and providing help. Such gems are hard to find when they're
buried between Pythagoras and the legality of taxation.

Just my $0.02

Regards,
Ozz.
