No internet connection :-). I tried various mount commands (including 
the above) w/ no success, I'll try again ....

[root at cmi2400:/etc/yum.repos.d, Thu Jan 18, 09:09 PM] 164 # mount 
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
[root at cmi2400:/etc/yum.repos.d, Thu Jan 18, 09:12 PM] 165 # mount -t 
iso9660 /dev/hdc /media/cdrom
mount: mount point /media/cdrom does not exist
[root at cmi2400:/etc/yum.repos.d, Thu Jan 18, 09:12 PM] 166 #

The fact that the yum repo-file mentions /media/cdrom makes me think 
that there should be some automounting action, but I am not seeing it. I 
also see no /dev/hdc or /dev/cdrom files ....
