Oh, I should have read more carefully. You don't mean it won't *run* your
distro, you mean it won't *install* your distro from CD.
Most distros have several different CD installs -- hi rez, low rez, text. Try
text or low rez. Also, most installs let you look at what's really going on
behind the fancy installer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2 or Ctrl+Alt+F3 or
Ctrl+Alt+F4.
Last of all, just for the heck of it, try loading the CD image on another box,
loopback mount it, NFS export it, and try an NFS install. That will get rid
of the possibility of it being a problem with the CD drive, or some wierd
timeout condition.
Very last of all, I wonder what would happen if you fdisked and mkfs'ed it
with Knoppix, and then ran your favorite distro's installer.
