I use Vonage at home.  While they are proprietary, they are reliable.

I also use Teliax for business.  So long as you understand how to 
optimize a router/firewall for VoIP, you are fine.  They lack quite a 
bit on features as compared to Vonage, but if you put an Asterisk box 
into the mix, your feature list expands exponentially and so does the 
skill level required to set it up.

Long story short,

If VoIPexpertise <= Novice
	use Vonage
else
	use Teliax

Please, for the love of all that is good, never use Broadvoice.  I 
nearly lost my mind over how bad the service is.  I've also had some 
problems with VoicePulse, but I only used their service for a couple 
hours so my opinion might not be well qualified.
