now that i have installed the ix86 vs of debian etch my SOUND does not
work.  i tried to install the drivers from Asus, but guess what, it
gives big nasty errors like you would not believe.  can not even START
the install process due to its errors in uncompressing its tarball.

bloody hell will linux ever run properly on this computer and its
hardware? 

FYI, still getting pathetic FPS with glxgears and i now have SLI
configured properly so states the xorg.conf created with nvidia-xconfig
tool.

help getting frustraighted.  i have been trying on and off for 9+ months
to get linux running on this computer, really need some help.
