I'm in agreement with Kyle, but for yet another reason ;-)
iirc, you have several systems between home and work. Unless you can
run 64-bit on all of them, by keeping the same os on several systems, it
makes testing/repairs a lot simpler.
I frequently steal config files from a working machine to repair one I
mucked up for one reason or another. With different OS's, I wouldn't
expect pkgs to have identical configs if they were compiled with
different options or had different code.
