Well with the arrival of the new HD i was successful at installing
debian etch amd64 tonight on it and IT DID NOT CRASH, but i also only
had 1 vid card installed and have not mucked with SLI yet.
2.6.18-3-amd64 is the kernel, and i did, i think successful, install the
latest nvidia drivers for the amd64. i had a few errors about not
finding paths and if the install failed to install pkg-config and X.Org
SDK/development package, but when i startx i get a very brief flash of
the Nvidia splash screen. this normally means the Nvidia drivers are
working.
now i went to test it via glxgears. was not installed so i found the
package and installed it and ran it. it opens up the standard box,
although much more clean then i am used to seeing it, but it is not
reporting any FPS stats to the konsole i started glxgears from.
did i screw something up? is KDE 3.5 so much different that glxgears is
not reporting as i am accustom? what did i screw up?
FYI, i just have my old drive disconnected in order to test it out, i am
currently back under winXP as i want the full power of the SLI and am
not going to muck with it further tonight.
thanks.
