Had issues with about ten different distros that were on regular CDroms,
on a VIA chip board, with a Soc A 1.3Ghz Athlon, until I tried Knoppix
Lite, and, DSL3.2 (both are on mini-CDs, as they are actually about 49Mb
n size). They booted!
The full sized CDroms would boot up to where the desktop gets loaded,
and then drop me to a shell!
Then, I replaced the 32X Toshiba CDrom with a different brand unit, and
all booted! Now, installed, but, there are minor issues with USB, so
perhaps, the USB was 'blown'? (used board, curbside donation!). Also,
having a bit of a time trying to get connected via NIC, on my
network... It gets assigned an IP address, then, won't talk!
You never know! Just try different distros, and use different hardware,
until it works!
