just a little FYI, i pulled down the latest 5.1 knoppix the other day to
see if i could get it to boot with my hardware, the GUI failed, sadly i
did not take the time to write down the errors in xorg, just that it
gave sound, but was a complete black screen. did not kick me back to
the CLI, just left it hanging in a black screen.
i had to open an other termianl and rm /tmp/.Xsomethingoranother file to
try again with the same results.
this does not bode well for getting linux up and running on my
computer... *frown*
