Right now, the laptops are costing about $150 to produce.  Since it is 
'free' money the cost is not of any importance to the poor kids in Libya.

My father flew out of Libya in WWII, on some of his 50 B-17 missions 
bombing Hitler's Nazis.

Muomar Kadafi had to witness the murder of his father, by the Fascist 
Italians, by hanging.

That gruesome tragedy marked Muomar Kadafi to hate all 'Westerners'.  
The facts support that Libya didn't support or assist in the bombing of 
the PanAm jet over Lockerbie, but, he signed an agreement to become more 
friendly towards the West, and to make reparations.

Since then, Libya has been trying to modernize, but, still has to fight 
the Islamic quarter, who want everyone, including you, to live in the 
5th century, and be a servent to a dictator.

As for the DOCTOR and the 5 Nurses, they arrived AFTER the children had 
already been infected with AIDS in the hospitals, through horrid lack of 
hygiene.  But, being Westerners, and  the  Court being run by 5th 
century  idiots, who still have hatred for the West, there is a stupid 
issue of their declaring the DEATH sentence for those 6 medical persons.

I hope that Libya gets some smarts in this, because their stupidity can 
thrust them BACK into the stone age, and some wiser heads there know it. 

But, I only lived in Morocco, so can't state the actual facts of Libya, 
only what I know from the world news (BBC, Indonesian news, Sidney news, 
for differing views...).
