Burned a second CD (still at 32X speed) and it has now booted on a 
Pentium 350mhz with 224 Mb RAM. Looks great!
It took about three minutes to come up fully, with all Icons on the Desktop.

Burning another at 8X speed.  These are all Office Max CDroms, labeled 
52X.  the checksums are good on these.  Just can't figure out what 
happened to the first burn.
