Ah, So! Mepis 7.0 is based upon Debian Etch, and not Ubuntu, as was
Mepis 6.5! That would account for some differences.
I notice that each distro of GNU/Linux concentrates upon different
services, and that some not so important to the developers of a distro,
are not perfected until the users complain on the forums.
I think I'll wait to switch to Mepis 7.0. At least until the Ubuntu
repositories expire in a couple years.
