What I have done in Ubuntu 7.04;

I went to System--> Admin--> Shared folders. I was then asked to install the
software for Windows and Linux and did it.

I then wanted to share the drive /media/HDA5. I then added the path
/media/HDA5 to the shared folders. My guess is that this drive would show up
on my other computer when I opened places--> network...

This did not happen.

I have been able to share every folder on the drive to the other computer. I
had to put all the files in one top level folder and name it so I knew what
computer it was on when I opened up the network browser. I right clicked the
folder, chose to share it as a window drive, I left read only checked and
clicked ok. I went to the other computer and saw the folder, opened up the
folders, and read PDF files off of the other machine.

I was not successful in just simply sharing the whole drive.

I am trying to share several drives in my SOHO. My main computer has 6 Hard
drives and 2 CD-ROMS using a promise card.

This is a work around for the time being however; creating a top level
directory and moving everything into this directory takes time but it works.

I hope this answers you question.

Thanks for everyones input.

Andy

The program said "Requires Windows 98 or better to run properly." So I
installed Linux.
