Ahh, the good 'ole policy of:
"This is a longer weekend, so cancel any and all events someone might want 
to participate in this weekend, because we'll assume they have somewhere 
else to be."

(Sorry if I sound grumpy, but I'm one of those people who usually doesn't 
have somewhere else to be on long weekends.)

Of course, given our location, we really can't just decide to switch dates 
without first checking with the church (and even then maybe not), lest we 
collide with the dates of other groups (which has happened serveral times 
before).
