I think that the "used" items on Amazon.com are mostly  excess inventory 
auctioned or salvaged to dealers, from store inventory, so have bought 
about 8 books and videos over the past 5 years, there, when I couldn't 
find them at garage sales.  Most were Linux books with CDroms, like 
Hacking Knoppix by Kyle Rankin, for $2.49 and shipping of $3.49.

Also, Linux Toys, and Modding PCs were great bargains. 

Movies were Flash Gordon and Dark Star.  Cult Sci-fi films.  More in the 
line of adult comedy.

Hollywood probably already got their pound of flesh on the movies, in 
the original wholesale.
