ok i was able to get the DNS issue fixed, i was able to pass on a few
arguments at the boot screen to increase the resolution to 1280x1024 and
there is even an option to force the system to run via TOR if you are so
inclined.

evaluation of the miniCD (LiveCD) vs. so far.

1. it is the FASTEST liveCD i have ever run. so fast that you tend to
forget you are running off of a CD instead of the HDD.

2. even though a lot of the purest out there will not like this I LOVE
IT. the 3rd party drivers are INSTALLED for you like your ATI or Nvidia
drivers. for me it is the Nvidia drivers, they are there and just
WORK. very nice.

3. Beryl = OMG this GUI on top of KDE is so fast, so light years ahead
of anything Vista offers and it just works. very easy to configure,
light on the hardware and zero system lag even off of the liveCD.

4. it is missing some basics like vi and vim are missing, but you do
have nano. i just am used to vi/vim meh just me.

5. to fix my DNS issue i just had to log in as root (switch to one of
the root terminals) and run net-setup and put in the information for my
LAN and i was golden.

6. i only used konquorer so i do not know how well FF will play with
it, but knoq, was fast enough for me. no flash or shockwave installed,
but for a liveCD that is ok.

if you are looking to play around with a really powerful GUI i highly
recommend this distro. try the LiveCD, or burn the full DVD and install
it. very nice. i have not tried to install it yet so no clue as to how
easy/hard this will be. I plan on trying to install it this weekend if
i get the floor down in the kitchen soon enough.

enjoy.
