We purchased BellSouth DSL for my home in Volusia County, because
Brighthouse was horrible. It would disconnect every 10 minutes or so.
This drove me crazy. We went through 2 external fans to try to cool
down the modem (in case of a heating problem). They even changed the
modem out, and we still had the same problems. The ironic thing
being, right around when we got BellSouth, then Brighthouse started
magically working. Not to mention the fact that cable connections use
a shared connection as opposed to a nice single connection which DSL
gives you. I hope that Brighthouse no longer has these problems, but
I really don't know because I've just been happy to have a steady
connection.
