FYI: If you have a laptop with these:

06:04.3 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
06:04.4 Class 0805: Texas Instruments PCI6411/6421/6611/6621/7411/7421/7611/7621 Secure Digital Controller

...and they aren't working, you can get them to work by installing the newest drivers found here:
http://developer.berlios.de/projects/tifmxx/

My laptop is a hp model dv8301. I understand that many hp/compaq use a TI SD controller.

[root at laptop ~]# uname -a
Linux dv8301nr 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Mar 19 11:38:26 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

[root at laptop ~]# lsmod |grep -i tif
tifm_sd 14728 0
tifm_7xx1 12032 0
mmc_core 30661 3 tifm_sd,mmc_block,sdhci
tifm_core 14852 2 tifm_sd,tifm_7xx1

[root at laptop ~]# dmesg
