It also now makes perfect sense when someone at the LEAP meeting said
that Sun announced the GPL'ing of Java shortly afterwards because they
wanted to undercut Microsoft.

With this cross-patent and collaboration licensing agreement between
Microsoft-Novell, I'm sure they were worried about newfound .NET-Mono
collaboration.  I mean, why consider Sun's "write once, run anywhere"
when Mono offers direct Windows .NET compatibility, right down to the
"Gold" books!

Wow!  I guess I'm just now seeing how deep this goes!  But it just makes
sense, just like the previous Microsoft-Sun agreement.
