It's sad that people cannot distinguished between "freedom" and "give it
to me and I won't pay for it".
Trust me, this even happens with big enterprise companies. Most people
would not BELIEVE how out of compliance most companies are on their
support and licensing agreements, even when you make it super easy. I
know you have probably seen this in your work.

I believe Fedora has done a good job of this. At least as good a job as
possible.
BTW, regarding the 32-bit/64-bit on systems with less than 4 Gb of
memory. I believe you are right here. I've been wearing a hairshirt
fighting with 64-bit on my Athlon64 X2 workstation. I'm going to
reinstall with 32-bit.
