Seriously now, I have Firefoz 2.0 on RHEL/CentOS 3/4 and Fedora Core 5/6 - never seen anything wrong.

It's more likely an resolver-related issue that Firefox 2.0 is merely exposing - especially if you downloaded from Mozilla and not Fedora Extras.  Different resolver/configuration assumptions in the Gecko build.

E.g., Gecko is IPv6 aware. ;-)
