xbox with Gentoo and MythTV.
You can play all kinds of media (although I never setup time-shifting
or recording).
The menu is great (for music, movies, weather, etc)
You can also use the xbox remote.
a couple years ago, I setup one of mine with my Logitech dinovo
bluetooth keyboard (so I didn't have to have line-of-site).
You can hookup svideo, rgb, composite and even dolby 5.1.
Throw in a 300gig drive and you have quite the data store.

Throw on a custom paint job, and voila.
Actually, Phil has the first case I used on a Linux xbox a couple years back!
