This is crap, from the POV that the GPL-compliance of a kernel binary module
shouldn't be an issue.  The GPL-workaround, the grey area that Linus talks
about, is a perfectly legal and workable solution to legal issues.  What's
crap is that some of the kernel developers disagree, don't see or understand
the issue from a legal perspective but only in the non-legally-binding
idealist view.  Yes, ideally it'd be great if companies could contribute
100% GPL-compliant code to various projects, but there's a great deal of
intellectual property that these companies don't have control over which
blocks them from doing so - just ask nVidia's drivers team.

And, btw, legalities are an issue on *any* OS, on *any* license.
