[Leaplist] for the OSx users

I just got a new MacBook Pro a few days ago (work machine, too, so it wasn't
my own money). I've started using Parallels a bit, it works quite well, and
I expect to use it a lot more in the future.
Of course, as many of us know, VMware makes all other x86 virtualization
products look like a joke. However, VMware has pretty much written off the
end-user "desktop" market. VMware Workstation is a wonderful product with
features that would make any network tinkerer (multiple virtual switches) or
software tester (cloning, snapshotting) drool. However, it is $200, which is
a bit much for "end users", and they don't even market it in that direction.
Their free "player" version is also unsuitable, since you can't configure
your own VMs.
Parallels, on the other hand, is almost exclusively focused on providing an
end-user product. This means it doesn't have any fancy features beyond what
VirtualPC offered (not much), but it also means that their primary market is
the end-user. So, they are cheaper, and are likely to continue to make
improvements in areas that matter to a desktop user.
I am really looking forward to the eventual release of VMware for Mac, even
still, since competition is always a good thing.
P.S. Yes, I have used VMware on Linux, and it does work very well and provides
amazing tinkerer flexibility.
